Hob Hill Church of England/Methodist (VC) Primary School is a co-educational day school. We cater for pupils between the ages of 3 and 11 years and serve mainly the Brereton area, though some pupils travel from outside our notional catchment area. We currently have 238 full-time pupils and 28 part-time nursery pupils on role (September 2018). Between 2016 and 2018, we underwent a significant expansion project, including a large extension and refurbishment of the school. As a result, we are fortunate to have a modern building, with excellent facilities, including separate dance studio, Learning Resource Centre (computing) and Library.
Situated on the edge of Rugeley, we are fortunate to have beautiful surroundings; grazing sheep and cattle can often be seen in adjoining fields! We have extensive school grounds, including a sizable playground with picnic seating, large playing fields, allotments and a ‘wild’ wooded area used for our Forest Schools project. There are also separate outdoor facilities for our Nursery and Reception classes to utilise throughout the school day.
At Hob Hill we are very proud of our partnership with not just one, but two local Churches. As Staffordshire’s only combined Church of England and Methodist school, we have the unique opportunity to draw on the traditions and support of both St. Michael’s Church and the Brereton Methodist Chapel. The ministers and other members of both church communities visit the school regularly, sharing in collective worship, supporting learning in Religious Education lessons and representing the churches on the school’s governing board.
